The Annual Gala was a “Mighty Mighty” Success

A breathtaking venue, two “Mighty Mighty” honorees, the iconic sounds of Earth, Wind & Fire and $7 million raised - what could be better during this beautiful “September?” 

On September 13, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation hosted its annual gala within the stunning Great Hall and Erlinger Gardens at Monmouth University, and honored two incredible philanthropists: Mary Ellen Harris, president of the Golden Dome Foundation, and Lawrence Inserra, Jr., and the Inserra Family Foundation. The funds from this year’s event contribute to the organization’s Be The Difference campaign, which was launched last September, and has raised $735 million towards its $1 billion fundraising goal. A transformational effort, Be The Difference aims to reshape health care for patients, clinicians and the many communities served by Hackensack Meridian Health.

Attended by more than 1,300 attendees, the evening was festive, with guests receiving remarks from HMH CEO Robert Garrett, Joyce P. Hendricks, the president and chief development officer of Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation and our two honorees, who were presented with awards in thanks for their incredible generosity to Hackensack Meridian Health and their dedication to improving health care. A special performance by the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire was yet another high point of the night!
