Support Beyond the Diagnosis
Education & Support Programs
We know that managing diabetes and other endocrine conditions goes beyond prescriptions and lab results. That’s why we offer education programs, peer support groups, and wellness-focused activities for children and families. These opportunities help parents and kids build confidence in managing daily care routines and navigating school, sports, and social events.
Our signature Healthy Futures program is a 12-week health and wellness series for boys and girls ages 8–18 designed as part of our broader pediatric weight management program to promote emotional and physical well-being. Hosted at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital, this program focuses on topics like:
- Emotional and social eating
- Self-esteem and body image
- Coping with peer pressure
- Healthy decision-making around food and activity
It’s designed to improve emotional and physical well-being in a fun, supportive setting.
Helping Young Adults Transition to Adult Care
We offer a dedicated transition program at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital for teens and young adults (ages 18–22) who are preparing to move from pediatric to adult endocrinology care. Patients have a chance to meet adult providers, attend free support groups, and receive step-by-step guidance from our transition team. When they’re ready, we ensure a smooth handoff to an adult care team with no gaps in treatment or support.
