Mammograms detect and diagnose breast cancer, often before any symptoms or lumps can be felt. Unfortunately, the amount of conflicting information about this potentially life-saving test makes answering the question “when should you get a mammogram?” much more complicated than it should be.
We spoke with Harriet Borofsky, MD, a breast radiologist at Riverview and Bayshore Medical Centers, to help answer this and other common questions she’s asked in her New Jersey imaging center.
