Peterson Metellus, M.D.

Dr. Metellus earned his MD from the Universite Notre Dame D’Haiti . He completed his Psychiatry Residency training at Interfaith Medical Center, One Brooklyn Health in Brooklyn, NY where he also was a medical student lecturer. Dr. Metellus has a natural eagerness to learn, and enjoys books and TV programs related to forensic science. Dr. Metellus looks forward to a career in Forensic Psychiatry and will graduate in 2025.

Divya Periasamy, M.D.

Dr. Periasamy earned her MD from the Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Science in India. She completed her Psychiatry Residency training at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center; Brooklyn, New York where she was also Chief Resident of the Inpatient Unit. Dr. Periasamy has an interest in expanding her knowledge in the realms of civil commitments and child custody evaluations.

2022-2023 Academic Year

Aleksandr Shumkin, M.D.

Dr. Shumkin joined us from the Psychiatric Residency at the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education, Moscow, Russia. Prior to completing his Psychiatry Residency, Dr. Shumkin obtained his Medical Degree from First Moscow State Medical University in Russia. Dr. Shumkin graduated from his Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship in 2023 and is currently completing his General Psychiatry Residency at OUMC.
