As we advance our comprehensive strategy to eliminate gaps in health care and ensure health access and quality outcomes for all, we are intentional in our efforts to embed opportunity and belonging with a focus on impact throughout the fabric of our organization. In support of these efforts, we have identified four pillars:
- Patient Care & Outcomes: Enhancing health access and providing excellent patient care and outcomes for all.
- Community: Supporting and strengthening partnerships across all communities we serve.
- Workforce: Attracting, retaining, developing and promoting the advancement of all talent to drive innovation and growth.
- Supplier Engagement: Fostering relationships with all communities that enhance economic sustainability and drive shared values across our local, regional, and national supply chain.
Listening to Understand Statement
The Listening To Understand (LTU) initiative provides a safe place for leaders and team members to connect and engage in conversations that enhances understanding and strengthens a culture of civility and belonging for all.
This may include collaboration opportunities that focus on special topics, providing valuable insights to help drive innovation that fosters exceptional care for all and team member well-being.

I believe that Hackensack Meridian Health thrives when our workforce reflects the communities we proudly serve. Our commitment to health access for all is a strategic priority and vital to our ability to address the challenges we face in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape. The foundation of this effort is to be intentional about creating a workforce that reflects all communities of our great state and beyond. We are cultivating an environment that is ripe with Opportunity for all where people feel a strong sense of Belonging that allows them to bring their authentic selves to work. This helps us drive the type of Impact that delivers exceptional care and eliminates unacceptable gaps in health outcomes for all.
At Hackensack Meridian Health, we provide comprehensive, human-centered care that addresses the unique health needs of our parents. We are committed to doing our part to close unacceptable gaps in all spheres of care, especially in maternal care, oncology and the treatment of chronic diseases including diabetes, stroke and cardiac care. Technology is driving innovation at lightning speed. Care is moving well beyond the four walls of the hospital. And we understand that to keep all communities healthier we must address social issues that impact Health Access, including affordable housing, access to healthy food and more. The need for creative solutions and collaboration has never been greater. A workforce reflective of all communities we serve is essential to our success.
